NASA Goddard Space Facility
Travel to the stars today with SignaTours! First stop is just north of D.C. at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. Your tour begins at the Visitor Center for a presentation on the mission of this facility and the various projects that Goddard supports. Next, enjoy a guided tour that includes “Building 29” where you will learn about space telescopes, including the Webb and the Hubble, and about the next space telescope project, the Nancy Grace Roman Telescope. See the Goddard “Clean Room” to learn about the process of assembling satellites and we should be able to see actual satellite components being worked on by NASA scientists and technicians. Following that, we will travel back to the Visitor Center for time to look around at exhibits.
Board the coach mid-day (box lunch will be served on board the coach) and we make our way into downtown D.C. to continue our “star” themed day at the National Air & Space Museum. Located on the National Mall, it is one of the most visited and most popular museums in the world! Explore eight newly opened galleries, see the first airplane, see the spacesuit worn by the first person that walked on the Moon, and much more. Experience the larger-than-life world of aviation and space!
