Mayberry Days in Mount Airy!

Our 2022 visit to Andy Griffith’s Mount Airy was so popular, we’ve decided to go back… but this time during Mount Airy’s Mayberry Days Celebration! This is a weeklong celebration for those that long for the days when life was simple, and the sheriff didn’t carry a gun! Mount Airy is Andy Griffith’s childhood home and the inspiration for Mayberry, the fictional town of the beloved 1962 sitcom The Andy Griffith Show. Special entertainment for the festival includes an entertaining comedy show: John Floyd: The Mouth of Mayberry and be part of a discussion by Movie Producer, Dick Atkins, about the making of the movie Murder in Coweta County starring Andy Griffith and Johnny Cash. He will discuss working with Andy and Johnny and then the movie will be shown. Besides great meals, other highlights include Andy Griffith Playhouse for a Behind-the-Scenes Tour, Mount Airy Guided Tour, “Surprise” entertainment at the Mount Airy Amphitheatre, and a Lunch Cruise on Smith Mountain Lake in Virginia.
