If you are a country music lover, then this is the tour for you! Enjoy four fabulous nights at the magnificent Gaylord Opryland Resort, sensational shows, incredible touring, and thirteen delicious meals! There are a host of inclusions on this fantastic trip. One Guided Tour is hosted by a duo singing favorite country songs as you pass the places where the songs were created, written or recorded. Midday features lunch at Nashville Underground with an award-winning songwriter. Make your own Goo Goo Cluster” and indulge in a dessert sampling.
Experience Waylon’s Way, a performance with audience interaction, and storytelling of Waylon Jennings’ musical career. Enjoy a Box Lunch and a private performance by Country Music Star Carter Robinson. An “up close and personal” visit with many of your favorite stars at Madame Tussaud’s precedes Nashville’s newest show, “The Music of Nashville.” Take the General Jackson Showboat for lunch and a ride on the Cumberland River while being entertained. For dinner, enjoy the Nashville Nightlife Dinner Show.
Also included is a trip to Memphis where we will tour downtown Memphis, then Graceland, the home of the “King of Rock & Roll – Elvis Presley.” Lunch at Vernon’s Smokehouse is followed by a visit to Graceland’s Mansion and Museums. Experience first-hand how music is woven into the tradition in Southwest Virginia. Day One begins at where you journey back to the birth of Country Music, Floyd, Va. where we will check into the Hotel Floyd. Complete your Friday evening with a visit to the Floyd Country Store and the “Friday Night Jamboree.” Enjoy the old-time & bluegrass music and dancers filling the streets. Day Two – it’s on to Abingdon, Va and a play at the famous Barter Theater. Next, travel the Crooked Road to Hiltons for the Carter Family Fold. “Sweet Mountain Music” fills the air. Bring along those dancing shoes & clog or flat-foot to the country music. Day Three sends you to Country Cabin II, where the oldest mountain music cultural venue, puts on a program just for you. Next travel the country roads to Clintwood to the Ralph Stanley Museum & Traditional Mountain Music Center, highlighting art exhibits and displays of the roots of the surrounding area and its influence on the music of today. This evening, get your “hands a clappin’ & your toes a tappin’” with Tim White and the VW Boys. Day Four includes a “windshield riding tour” of Bristol with guide Tim White. As we bid adieu to Tim, we head to the Southwest Virginia Cultural Center and Marketplace and finish up at the Lincoln Theater in Marion, Virginia.
