A Smoky Mountain Christmas
A Fantasy of Lights Tour
December 5- 8, 2019
Join us as Gatlinburg, TN launches into the holiday season with its “44th Annual Fantasy of Lights Christmas Parade.” Accommodations for this tour are at the Greystone Lodge, just a short walk from the Parkway where the 1.5 mile long parade travels. Your own folding chair accompanies you to the parade where you can seek out a good spot to view the parade which is in the running for “Best Holiday Parade” by USA TODAY.
A morning of touring thru the Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community, an 8-mile loop features artisans at work whittling, painting, sewing, weaving, carving, is planned. Candles, baskets, quilts, brooms, pottery, jewelry, dolls, ceramics, scrimshaw and so much more await your visit.
After a busy morning, return to Gatlinburg and visit the dozens upon dozens of shops near your Downtown hotel. Enjoy an early dinner (cost is on your own) so you can find the perfect spot to view the parade.
The popular parade is only the beginning . . . a trip to Pigeon Forge includes The Incredible Christmas Place, the largest Christmas shopping village in the South. Next is time on The Island, home to more than sixty retail and specialty shops and Paula Deen’s Restaurant and gift shop.
The afternoon will be spent at Dollywood’s Smoky Mountain Christmas venue. Rides, attractions, award-winning shows, over 5,000,000 lights, and a delicious Holiday Dinner are yours to enjoy.
Your day concludes with a multi-million dollar Christmas production at the Smoky Mountain Opry. Angels, elves, reindeer, Jolly ‘Ol St. Nick and an incredible Nativity scene round out your day.

Join us on our annual California Rose Parade Tour! Accommodations this year are at the luxurious Hotel Irvine. Following arrival and check-in, meet your fellow travelers for a Welcome Dinner at the hotel. In the morning, enjoy Breakfast, before departure for a Rose Parade Float Decorating Tour to see the finishing touches put on the Parade Floats. Afterward, travel to Beverly Hills for Lunch at the famous Lawry’s Prime Rib Restaurant and a visit to Santa Monica Beach. This evening is at your leisure with free shuttle service to the Irvine Spectrum. Breakfast once again begins your next day and is followed by your choice of one of the following tours… Warner Brothers Studios Tour and Hollywood City Tour or Catalina Island or Ronald Regan Presidential Library. Experience first-hand how music is woven into the tradition in Southwest Virginia. Day One begins at where you journey back to the birth of Country Music, Floyd, Va. where we will check into the Hotel Floyd. Complete your Friday evening with a visit to the Floyd Country Store and the “Friday Night Jamboree.” Enjoy the old-time & bluegrass music and dancers filling the streets. Day Two – it’s on to Abingdon, Va and a play at the famous Barter Theater. Next, travel the Crooked Road to Hiltons for the Carter Family Fold. “Sweet Mountain Music” fills the air. Bring along those dancing shoes & clog or flat-foot to the country music. Day Three sends you to Country Cabin II, where the oldest mountain music cultural venue, puts on a program just for you. Next travel the country roads to Clintwood to the Ralph Stanley Museum & Traditional Mountain Music Center, highlighting art exhibits and displays of the roots of the surrounding area and its influence on the music of today. This evening, get your “hands a clappin’ & your toes a tappin’” with Tim White and the VW Boys. Day Four includes a “windshield riding tour” of Bristol with guide Tim White. As we bid adieu to Tim, we head to the Southwest Virginia Cultural Center and Marketplace and finish up at the Lincoln Theater in Marion, Virginia.
