You may have seen this before, perhaps you have seen the movie, but this is one show that never gets old! It is one of the most "feel-good" musicals in Broadway history plus the music is so good! It is the story of a mother, a daughter, three possible dads and a trip down the aisle you'll never forget! Set on a Greek island paradise where the sun always shines, a tale of love, friendship, and identity is beautifully told through the timeless hits of ABBA. On the eve of her wedding, a daughter's quest to discover the father she's never known brings three men from her mother's past back to the island they last visited decades ago. The matinee will be held at the always impressive Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. A delicious lunch is planned at Carmine's prior to this wonderful afternoon of entertainment!

This new train tour out of Staunton was so popular for us last year that we are going back again – this time for their afternoon train which travels an entirely different route – called the Blue Ridge Flyer. Hosted by the Virginia Scenic Railroad, this 3 hour round trip train excursion heads east passing through the communities of Fishersville and Waynesboro and offers the thrilling experience of roaring through the Blue Ridge Tunnel, carved out of rock hundreds of feet below the mountain summit above. The train will turn around in Ivy in Albemarle County. Beautiful views of the Blue Ridge Mountains are the hallmark of this journey. You will quickly realize there is something positively timeless about train travel. A delicious early dinner is included while on board. Don’t wait to sign up; we expect this tour to sell out quickly!

Before she was hit-maker Carole King — she was Carole Klein, a spunky, young songwriter from Brooklyn with a unique voice. From the chart-topping hits she wrote for the biggest acts in music to her own life-changing, trailblazing success with Tapestry, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical takes you back to where it all began — and takes you on the ride of a lifetime. Winner of two Tony Awards and featuring beloved songs including “I Feel the Earth Move,” “One Fine Day,” “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman,” “You've Got a Friend”, and the title song, “Beautiful”, she made more than beautiful music, she wrote the soundtrack to a generation. This matinee is performed at Riverside Center for the Performing Arts with, as always, great seats as well as a Three-course, plated lunch before the matinee begins.

In 1912, Italian immigrant Amedeo Obici opened the facilities of the Planters Nut and Chocolate Company in Suffolk, Virginia. He built on the widespread cultivation of peanuts and by 1941, Suffolk had been declared “The Peanut Capital of the World.” Soon after, an annual festival was created to celebrate this famous Virginia product! 2024 marks the 46th Anniversary of Suffolk’s Premier Festival. Our Festival visit on Friday includes BINGO… it’s free and prizes for all the winners! During your stay, shop and browse the many art and craft vendors. After sold out shows in 2022 and 2023, we have fallen in love with Elvis Presley Tribute Artist, Travis Ledoyt! For those who may not know… Travis is known as “the world’s best” at portraying young Elvis Presley during his prime in the 50’s and 60’s! His uncanny resemblance to the “King” will make you look twice when he walks out on stage and his voice and personality will make you an instant believer. Personal friends of Elvis garner the highest of praise for Travis and his rendition of Elvis. His claim to fame began as a dare at his high school talent show and with his discovery of a video of Elvis performing in the 50’s! Intrigued by the look, moves, and sound of the legend, Travis began mimicking the “King” in his bedroom mirror at home. Slicking his hair back, and dressing the part, he brought Elvis to life at the talent show and the rest, you can say, is history! Travis has literally performed around the world in countries including England, Scotland, Hong Kong, China, and Argentina! He’s played in the corporate world, on cruise lines, in dozens of casinos across the United States, countless festivals, and iconic venues too numerous to list.
Travis really enjoys performing his “Elvis Show,” but rumor has it, that (He is Head Over Heels in Love with His Elvis Christmas Performance.) So, we knew we had to invite him back for another spectacular rendition of Christmas with Elvis! Only green and red scarfs to hand out this time! His high energy, non-stop portrayal of the “King of Rock and Roll” is without a doubt, one of the best performances we’ve had at the Glen Allen Cultural Arts Center! His singing, dancing, witty one-liners, and incredible piano playing will make this an unforgettable afternoon of entertainment. Plan to hear all your favorite Elvis songs and Christmas favorites. His performance with his audience is truly an engaging experience – he’s been known to walk down aisles hugging, kissing, and taking pictures, so be ready with the cameras!
